Founded by Christopher Day in 1987, this was the UK's first dedicated centre for the delivery of holistic, natural
and alternative (complementary) medicine for animals of all species, breeds and types. Chris Day has used homeopathy
on himself through school and college years and has used veterinary homeopathy on animals ever since qualifying as a vet in
1972.
At the AVMC, we have striven for more than 22 years for the well-being and welfare
of our patients, offering a range of therapeutic options to suit the individual and circumstance. The principal, Christopher
Day, is a homeopathic vet and holistic vet with over 35 years of experience in the field.
We hold consultation sessions at the premises (usually on Mondays and Thursdays) and we travel widely in the
UK on the other days, to visit animals, including horses, ponies, farm animals, buffalo, reindeer, dogs, cats, donkeys, goats,
ferrets and birds, at their home location.
We offer
video consultations for those who are too distant from us, who live abroad or who cannot travel to us for other reasons. This service is
also available for horses.
We run a major information site at: www.alternativevet.org. This site describes the various alternatives (vet homeopathy, vet acupuncture, vet herbal
medicine [herbs], chiropractic manipulation, natural feeding etc.), discusses many issues and explains the work of the
AVMC in some detail.
