Faculty meetings all day yesterday

Yes, it was a full day of meetings, capped off by an excellent lecture by David Owen.

In order to stretch my legs a little during the brief lunch pause, I strolled in the garden at the venue (Royal College of Physicians) and espied this wonderful flowering Hamamelis specimen (better known as Witch Hazel).

On our AVMC Facebook page (www.facebook.com/AVMC.UK), there is a series of verses on homeopathic medicines for animals, including one on Hamamelis, featuring this photo.

Verses on Homeopathic Medicines

On our Facebook page, we have verses and pictures of homeopathic first-aid medicines for animals.

These are intended as a handy way to remember the scope of the remedies.

It is an ongoing series.

Herbal poems

On the Alternative Veterinary Medicine Centre Facebook page, there is a series of herbal ditties that remind the reader of key virtues of healing plants.

Light reading, sometimes entertaining, this series should help one to memorise salient features of some of the most marvellous medicines Nature has to offer.

Here are two examples:

Flu vaccine increases risk

I have long thought that vaccination over-specialises the immune system, at the expense of general immune capability.

Here’s some evidence that this theory may not be very wide of the mark:

Think very carefully before consenting to vaccination! Apart from the risk of serious side effects, these is a risk of increasing your susceptibility to other bugs.
