To all my friends in the USA, to all those families ripped apart by this tragedy and to all in state of Connecticut and in the USA, my heartfelt sympathies. While any death is tragic, the death of schoolchildren is harder to take in. The events of Friday, 14th December are beyond belief.
To my shame, I’ve only just got around to thanking, publicly, everyone I met in Latvia for their wonderful hospitality and for the great time I had in early May 2012.
Three days of teaching were marked at each end by two days of solo driving – a real experience in itself (1550 miles each way)! I took in France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
